Hello, 30 years has gone by fast - thanks to Lisa and Kevin for all your hard work in getting us together.  I am single - never married - no children - boyfriend of over 20 years - very happy.  I work for the National Office of the American Diabetes Association in Alexandria - I am the Assistant to the VP of IT&S and I oversee our Procurement Department. I have been with the ADA for almost 8 years - I was in the hotel business when I got out of high school for about 8 years - then worked for a marketing firm for another 8 years.  I live two miles from our old High School - I have been in the DC since we all graduated - It will be nice to see everyone.  I hope everyone is doing well - it just seems like yesterday I was standing at my locker trying to remember my combination :-)

I have been here in San Diego, California since 1984, and love it here!  I just bought a restaurant, so that keeps me busy, and away from the reunion.  Have fun!

WOW, 30 years....looking back at the high school years doesn't seem that long ago, or does it?  After graduation, I attended college (Commercial Art/Advertising), & after working at Ft. Belvoir, I moved south to the Fredericksburg area.  I'm now a number cruncher (Payroll) for Spotsylvania County Schools.
My son Josh, is 21 now and I just became a Grandma on August 26, 2009!!!  A baby girl, Savannah.....so exciting!
I'm looking to get in touch with high school classmates and share stories!! (you can find me on classmates.com as well)
It was a wonderful 30th reunion, and I hope everyone stays safe and healthy so we can make the 40th even better!
A big "THANK YOU" to Lisa , Kevin, and the fantastic Ambassador for the planning & preparation for the reunion.

THIRTY YEARS?  Say it isn't so!  Like many others, it seems, I've stayed in the area, even while I was working in New York City for several years (I commuted back and forth from here to there every week!).  I have been able to work in broadcasting for all of these years, which is exactly what I wanted to do.  I worked for many years at WKYS-FM, back in "the day", with Donnie Simpson as part of his morning team.  After that I worked for WTTG-TV, Fox 5, as the morning weatherman (don't ask!).  I left Fox to be the morning weather person for ABC's "Good Morning America" for just under seven years.  Two years ago I returned to Fox 5, where I am still on in the mornings.  I also did stand up comedy professionally for nine years, pretty much after taking on a challenge issued to me by Valerie Samuels at our FIFTH year reunion!
I have been married for thirteen years, and Rhonda and I have the cutest little boy in the world, Connor, who is 4 years old.
I still see Kevin DiLallo quite often, and I see Dr. Leigh Passman whenever he is back in the States.  (He lives in Brazil and just welcomed HIS first born, David, into the world!)  I am hoping to make it to the reunion on Saturday night, if for no other reason than to see if George Lewis shows up so I can see if people still confuse us with each other.

From Mark R.:

So it has been 30 years.  After graduated from the University of Virginia, I have basically worked for the Corps of Engineers Civil Works program in the National Capital Region, currently in the Headquarters office (Washington, DC).  My wife, Ms. Jamie Orr, went to Fort Hunt HS, I initially met her through my sister (all of us at UVA) but we didn't date and marry until many years after school.  She is currently a math and science teacher at St. Louis School, where the children also go.  We have two children, Cullen (12 years old) and Kira (10 years old).  I spend much of my spare time helping in my children's youth sports, pretending to know something about basketball, football, lacrosse, etc.  Strange how things work out.  I made no conscious decision to remain in the area and yet I have been here most my life and now my children would likely go to Mount Vernon HS as things are currently.  I look foward to seeing everyone, reconnecting with lost friends from MVHS.

Hi All - My husband and I will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary this October.  We have lived in Sourthern Maryland (Huntingtown) since 1987.  We have two kids. Cole is 14 and is into football, ice hockey, lacrosse, surfing, wakeboarding and most recently - girls.  Hunter (girl) is 11 and All-Star cheers as a flyer for the Maryland Twisters, also loves to surf and wakeboard. I'm thankful she still thinks boys are gross (except for Zac Efron)  I love that the kid's friends have chosen our home as their home away from home - but no keg parties here! (well - no keg parties for the kids).   I work for the National Nuclear Security Administration in DC and can retire in 6.5 years (YES!).  Thanks to Lisa and Kevin for all your hard work planning the reunion.  Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Hello everyone! A big thank you goes out to Lisa and Kevin for planning the reunion. Kathy and I have been checking the Mt. Vernon web site over the past year for any news and here it is.

I married Steve Robinson, class of 76, about 20 years ago. We have two teenagers, Kendyll, as senior, and Kyle, a freshman. Aren’t teenagers fun? We’ve just buckled our seat belts and are hanging on for dear life.

Music has continued to be an important part of my life. I direct the youth choir and sing in the Chancel choir, as well as several ensemble groups at the First United Methodist Church of Gallatin. Steve has also continued with his music. He is currently writing with several song writers, hoping his songs will get in the right hands. Things are looking up.

Mike Rhode and Steve’s sister, Kathy, live in the Nashville area and we all get together at least four times a year. Of course we see Kathy more, as she married my cousin, Woodie. That makes our children double cousins and we’re not even from West Va. (No offense meant)

My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and came to live with us in 96. The disease finally took its toll and she passed in 05. While caring for her, I decided to go back to school and get my masters degree in special education. I am currently in my fifth year of teaching at the middle school level. Tennessee has a wonderful program for gifted students, which falls under special education. I have been blessed to be over this program at our school. Teaching these children brings me hope for the future. I try to be innovative and expose the students to a variety of plays and competitions. Everyday brings new challenges and insights. I love it!

We will not be able to make the reunion this year. The tenth and twentieth reunions were so much fun; I hate to miss out on seeing everyone this time. Please receive my regards and best wishes.
